Change to beat surgeries / Anstey Nomads football match - Saturday 25/4/26 |
||
|
***ANSTEY AND NEWTON LINFORD LONG POST ALERT***
Important changes to our beat surgeries this coming weekend!
THE ANSTEY PART -
If you’re a football fan, then you’re probably aware of Leicester City’s abysmal season and our condolences to you if you’re Leicester fans like Mitch and I are! From a positive football point of view, Anstey Nomads are having an excellent season and play their final match on Saturday afternoon at Cropston Road. The result of this match (along with the result of the team placed second’s match) will decide if they get promoted and we wish them all the best for a win and promotion!
Now the “policey” bit –
Mitch and I will now be attending the area around the ground and surrounding streets on Saturday to keep an eye on parking as we know that it can be an issue for residents at times. If you’re attending the match and you can walk or catch the bus then please do so. If you have to attend in a car, please consider car sharing if at all possible. There is a public car park in the Nook, which is only a few minutes’ walk away. Consider getting into the village early and parking a few minutes’ walk away from the ground out of the way and walking in to the ground.
Please park considerately. DO NOT – BLOCK PAVEMENTS – Leave enough space for a wheelchair / pram / mobility scooter to pass by. BLOCK RESIDENTS’ DRIVEWAYS PARK ON DOUBLE YELLOW LINES PARK ON BENDS OR JUNCTIONS DOUBLE PARK, OR OTHERWISE BLOCK THE ROAD FOR LARGER VEHICLES PARK DANGEROUSLY IN ANY WAY
This should be a great day (even the weather forecast is good… for now) and the last thing we want is for yours to be ruined by you coming back to your car after the match to find it either removed by us (which will cost you at least a couple of hundred quid to get back) or with a parking ticket stuck to it. Please consider that this is a residential area and life has to continue for the residents, non-football visitors and people passing through it and we have to make sure that’s the case.
THE NEWTOWN LINFORD PART –
Our first three scheduled beat surgeries will take part as advertised (these being Cropston and the two in Anstey) but the Newtown Linford one that was due to happen at 1.30pm on Saturday will now be postponed, but only until the next day – This will now be at 3.30pm until 5pm on Sunday 26th April – We hope to still see you there on Sunday!
If you’ve read this far, thank you.
